The two Athenaeum funds invest together in advanced technologies expected to have significant market potential, and each of the two Funds' portfolio companies is achieving rapid revenue growth and market penetration. SDL, a British based, publically traded company focused on Global Information Management, is acquiring Language Weaver for a consideration of US$42.5 million in cash, subject to adjustments for closing working capital and cash positions, with target cash in the business of US$4m. Language Weaver was founded eight years ago to develop commercially viable automated translation software using a new statistical methodology; and The Athenaeum Fund provided the first institutional financing. Since then, Language Weaver has delivered compelling quality translation software solutions for both government and commercial customers; and both of The Athenaeum Funds invested in Language Weaver's second financing.
